For earthenwere lovers, Muang Kung Earthenware Village is a must, offering products in traditional and modern forms. A little way from the village is Ban Thawai Woodcarving Village where good quality wood carved furniture and accessories are on sale. To shop for cloth, Ban Rai Phai Ngam Cotton Weaving Village is where cotton cloth woven in the old style has long been produced.
A national park on the route is Doi Inthanon. It offers Mount Inthanon, the highest peak of the country standing 2,565 m above sea level, and one of the most popular national parks. Attractions on the way up or down the mountain include: Mae Klang Falls and Wachirathan Falls, two of the biggest and best known waterfalls of Thailand, Siriphum Falls whose name was derived from the first elements of the names of Queen Sirikit and King Bhumibol, the Twin Royal Pagodas which command a wide absorbing view of the mountains and valleys below, and Borichinda Cave with beautiful stalactites and stalagmites and a small stream inside. If there is time available, visitors can make a side trip to Mae Ya Falls, a most beautiful fall in Chiang Mai which can be accessed by mini-bus in the dry season only, and Ob Luang Gorge with a steep river valley amid scenic mountains and teak forests.
